Investment strategy
Industry sectors considered focus on the Individual (childhood development, education, financial inclusion, healthcare) and the Collective (agriculture, climate conservation, resource efficiency), with emphasis on how scalable solutions can address the world’s toughest economic, social and environmental challenges.
SIIF’s approach to due diligence includes, but not limited to:
Founder/management reviews;
Market sizing analysis;
Detailed review of historical financials and operating model; and
Comparable company and transaction analysis.
The investment process runs throughout September to June.
SIIF is focused only on UK-based start-ups and looks to co-invest with like-minded investors.
Investment Criteria
LBS SIIF offers:
£25 - £50,000 minority investments
Angel, pre-Seed, or Seed rounds
Preferred or ordinary equity securities
Ongoing relationship with SIIF, including project-based support along strategic or operational challenges and valuable recruiting opportunities to LBS’s graduates
Start-Ups
LBS SIIF seeks to invest in:
Entrepreneurs with strong desire to make a social impact across one of SIIF's target Individual or Collective sectors
Start-ups with a minimum viable product/service with demonstrated market traction (e.g., customer usage or existing revenues)
